The Simply Sweet Bakery is a cottage bakery located about nine miles west of Alma, KS just off 1-70 between Tallgrass Rd and Wabaunsee Rd exits. We are a short 20 minute drive southeast of Manhattan, about 35 minutes straigh west of Topeka, less than an hour east of Salina and about 15 minutes southwest of Wamego. We have a couple miles of gravel roads to our location once you come off 1-70, but you will love the views of the Flint Hills, cattle and summer wild flowers.

Our cakes are priced per cake. The typical cake is two layers of cake with filling of some sort in the middle (buttercream, fruit, jelly, ganache, curds, etc). I have base prices for each size of cake I offer. These prices are the same for all occassion and wedding cakes. I don't price per serving as each cake will only serve as many as you cut it to serve. I give you guidelines on serving sizes and how to slice each sized cake. Please reach out for a free quote based on your custom needs.

The best way to place your order is by using the "GET STARTED" button on this website. It's a quick form that gives me the best information on what you are looking for. By filling out this easy form I can easily give you a quote based on your guest numbers and type of dessert you are looking for. This helps with our communication and keeps the back and forth emails, text and phone calls to a minimum. Your time is important and I want to be as quick and as helpful as I can be in without taking lots of time away from your day.

A 50% deposit is required to hold your date. The remainder is due at the time of pick for all occasion orders. Wedding cakes require the final payment to be made no less than 30 days prior to the event date. We accept cash, check, Venmo and credit cards. A 4.0% surcharge will be added to all credit card payments to help off set the fees charged by the bank for this service.

Cash, Vemno and Credit/Debit Cards are all acceptable forms of payment. If using a credit/debit card there is a 4% surcharge for this service on each transaction. Invoicing is available and all invoices are due upon reciept. If you are needing to make more than one payment you can do that with different forms of payment.

When time allows we are always happy to try and arrange a meeting place for special occasion cakes. If we are not able to arrange this then pick up is at our place west of Alma, KS. We do not offer delivery or set up for all occasion cakes.

Wedding cakes are delivered and set up on site by me. There is a fee for this and you will see it added to your quote. It is based on the miles from my business to your reception site. If you choose to pick up your own wedding cake there is a waiver that must be signed at pick up.

Our flavor selection is almost endless. Since we are a custom bakery that makes everything from scratch we are able to create almost any flavor you request. Our basic flavors include Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry & Lemon.We also have a list of most requested Premium Flavors we are happy to share with you. We are here to create desserts unique to you!

No, we are not. We are, however, a custom bakery so you can request items to be made gluten free, sugar free and dairy free. We cannot guarantee there is no cross contamination, but will do our best to be sure all equipment is well cleaned before starting your order. If we are unable to accommodate your request we do have bakers we are happy to refer you to.

No, we are a Buttercream cake shop. We will from time to time use fondant for accents, but never to cover a cake. The time it takes to work with fondant is not worth the price we would charge to see your money end up in the trash. Most people do not truly like the taste of fondant and it can also be a choking hazard for small children. We like our cakes to taste as good or better than they look and using buttercream makes this possible. Not to mention, our buttercream is to die for!

Yes! Not only do we offer cakes but also cupcakes, cookies, individual desserts and dessert bars. We also offer cookies boxes, Grazing boxes (savory & sweet), cinnamon rolls, pies, dinner rolls and during the holidays we often have speciality items!
